The Atlas took a step towards the final of the Liga MX Apertura Tournament after defeating the Pumas de la UNAM in the University Olympic Stadium. An even match could only be defined in some way: with a mistake or with a great goal. The latter happened, courtesy of Julio Furch .

At 43 ′, the lethal striker he hit first to a pass given by Julián Quiñónes. His shot was powerful and with an impossible angle for Alfredo Talavera.

It was Furch’s eighth goal of the season. The Argentine scored for the second consecutive game. More timely, impossible.

Everything could change immediately. Three minutes after the 0-1, the principal signaled a maximum penalty on Sebastián Saucedo. However, the VAR decided to intervene and the decision was reversed. There was no penalty.

Pumas was the owner of the second half in possession and in opportunities created. Nonetheless, the five-man defense behind Diego Cocca paid off. The red-black wall endured once more – they have only allowed one goal in the last four games – and left the feline injured.

Atlas is one step away from the final , and you will have the opportunity to secure your pass next Sunday, December 5, at the Jalisco Stadium.
