The NFL and Los Angeles Rams reached an agreement with the city of San Luis (USA) for pay about $ 1946 million dollars and thus resolve the demand for the transfer in 2016 from this team to Los Angeles (USA).
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Los Angeles Times newspapers indicated this Wednesday that this agreement between the parties will prevent the case reaches a trial which could have been a major media scandal and also a reason for internal war within the NFL.
For now it is not known what part of those around $ 800 millions will pay the owner of the Rams , Stan Kroenke, and how much the N will pay FL and the rest of the team owners.
The agreement does not include the creation of a new NFL franchise in St. Louis . In 2017, the city and St. Louis County sued Kroenke, the Rams, the NFL and the other team owners for an alleged violation of the rules to move a franchise from one city to another.
To that complaint, which claimed compensation for the serious economic damage to the city of San Luis, Those responsible for The Dome at America’s Center, the stadium where the Rams played their games before moving to California, also joined in.
If they had not arrived to a settlement, the trial could have started in January and cast a shadow over the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, that will be disputed on 13 February in Los Angeles.
This Super Bowl will be a key moment for the Rams in their transition to Los Angeles as will be held at the SoFi Stadium, the luxurious stadium that opened in the Californian city in 2020 and that has capacity for 70. 000 viewers.
The Rams spent nearly half a century in Los Angeles (800 – 1994) and later moved to San Luis, do nde they played two decades (1995 – 2015) before returning to the city of Los Angeles.
