Los Angeles Police Search for 5 Subjects for Armed Robbery in Melrose Avenue Area

At least five men involved in a armed robbery in the Fairfax district, near Melrose Avenue, are wanted by police Los Angeles .

At dawn this Saturday, individuals robbed a residence on the block 700 from Gardner Street, where security camera footage recorded the suspects walking toward the home , which neighbors say is a short-term rental property.

The authorities indicated that in the recording screams are heard when the subjects face the victims who occupy residence.

A surveillance group in the area, called Melrose Action, indicated that During the assault, the subjects demanded valuables, and that the victims hid in courtyards of other nearby homes to stay safe .

The Los Angeles Police Department released a safety bulletin for some areas of the city where there has been an increase in criminal activity, such as Melrose Avenue, the jewelry district, nightclubs and high-end restaurants .

Authorities indicated that LAPD investigators have identified 110 crimes that fall into this category.

During September there was unusual violent crime activity in the area, with armed robberies against clients and businesses throughout from Melrose Avenue , so the LAPD deployed more officers to patrol the area.

However, the LAPD acknowledged that the problem has not yet been reduced, as happened on November 6 when a man attempted to assault a passerby on a Melrose sidewalk. The victim tried to take the weapon and fortunately there were no injuries , an action that was condemned by the authorities.

“Cooperate with that person. There is nothing about you that is worth your life, ”said LAPD chief Michael Moore.

The Department also asked residents for caution to be aware of the environment they are in and think twice before wearing valuable jewelry .
