When you sign up to receive Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, you must also sign up to receive your payments through direct deposit. In this way you can guarantee that your payment as a beneficiary can be received the same day your benefits are sent .

When are Social Security benefits deposited?

The Social Security Administration distributes payments to the beneficiaries over four weeks each month , depending on the type of payment, on the date it will start to claim your right or the day of the month you were born.

Electronic payments should be in your bank account first thing in the morning of day the payment is due.

For all beneficiaries, the Social Security Administration advises that you should not contact the agency immediately if you do not receive your money, but that you must allow three additional days after sending it.

In case that happens, you should contact your bank in case one of the payments is not made on the scheduled date .

If your bank does not experience any delay and you need to report that your payment to Social Security is late, missing or has been stolen, you can call the agency for free at 1 – 800 – 772 – 1213 or contact your local Social Security office.

So that you can get more information about benefits from the Social Security Administration, the agency offers a guide to retirement benefits or Survival and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments come out the first of each month , but when that day is a holiday or Sunday, the last business day of the previous month .

If you are a beneficiary Social Security and you started receiving your monthly payments before May of 1997 you can expect your deposit on the 3rd of each month.

If you receive both SSI and Social Security as well you will receive your payments on the 3rd of each month. Likewise, if that day is a holiday or falls on a Sunday, the payment will be advanced to the previous business day.

For the rest of the beneficiaries, the Social Security Administration distributes them in the following three weeks based on your date of birth .

Payments go out on Wednesdays of each week for Social Security beneficiaries who signed up after May 1997.

The order is quite logical, people who were born during the first ten days of a month receive their payments in the second week of each month . Those born in the following ten calendar days of a month receive their payment in the third week . And the fourth week payments are made to all recipients with birthdays that fall within the last eleven days of a month .
