Car sales are picking up again and Americans are buying cars at the same rate as before the pandemic , this represents great news as experts predicted a slower recovery.

For GM, one of the largest automakers in the country , sales for the fourth quarter of the year 2020 have increased by 5% compared to the previous year , also for Toyota, whose quarterly sales increased by 9%.

However, this does not mean that car sales have recovered in its totality, for example, the sale of car fleets, which represents 20% of the sales of this item, are still declining.

The consumer trend has shifted towards buying more expensive models such as SUVs, and much more equipped, which is good news for said

The increase in sales is explained by the fact that, with the travel restrictions and public places such as restaurants , people who have managed to keep their jobs, have directed their expenses towards improvements in their home and investing in new vehicles.

In the same way, many workers who used to use public transport, have decided to buy their own car as a precautionary measure due to Covid – 19.

However, for the millions of people who have lost their jobs or have seen their income cut, the possibility of buying a car is very remote, and this unfortunately can mean that they do not exceed the goal of the previous year, which represented a mark of 17 million cars sold.
