Security guard stabbed man who refused to wear a face mask inside a Santa Monica supermarket

A supermarket security guard stabbed a man who refused to wear a face mask inside the store, during an altercation this Sunday night in the town of Santa Monica, Los Angeles.

The dispute was notified at approximately 10: 30 pm in a Vons supermarket, located on the block 700 Broadway .

In a statement from the Santa Ana Police Department, reported that the security guard told the police operator that he had gotten into a fight with a customer and stabbed him in self-defense .

A witness stated that a fight happened, in which the security guard pulled out a knife and injured the man . He added that several people intervened to separate them, but the injured person already had severe bleeding.

Police officers found the injured man in front of the store, who had multiple injuries by a knife, for which he was transferred to a hospital and is reported stable.

The authorities indicated that the injured person refused to identify himself and did not provide any statement related to the incident with the security guard .

The officers interviewed several witnesses to the events, while the security element offered to fully cooperate on the altercation .

Subject attacked store clerk

According to authorities, the incident originated when the subject entered the store without wearing a cover geese and began to cause a scene. When supermarket employees approached him, he began to behave very violently and attacked a member of the store staff

At the time of the physical altercation, the security guard intervened and tried to lead the subject outside the supermarket, but at some point in the dispute the officer pulled out a small knife and stabbed the customer on several occasions s.

The injured man left the store, where he was found by the police officers.

No arrests were reported related to the altercation at the supermarket.

In Los Angeles County, a mandate is in force that requires the use of facial masks in public spaces indoors, which is marked outside supermarkets as a requirement to enter the store.
