Xfinity puts more than 50,000 people out of cable and internet service in San Francisco

Citizens of the San Francisco, California area suffered an extensive cable Internet service outage by the Xfinity company causing that, at least, 24, 000 were affected last night and early Tuesday morning, which affected a large part of the Bay Area .

According to the DownDetector website, there was an increase in reported Xfinity outages shortly before 04 of the night, for that time more than 24, 000 people reported the outage. Complaints skyrocketed on social media, indicating that the outage was much more widespread , affecting customers in San Francisco and the Peninsula, East Bay and North Bay .

The interruption was wide enough, to the extent that the Marin County Sheriff through the Twitter account externalized those affected that it was not necessary to contact the 911 to report or complain about the internet outage and Xfinity customers were urged to call the company instead.

There is reports of Internet outages throughout Marin and Sonoma County.

Despite the multiple complaints that were made by various social media platforms, the first reports this Tuesday indicated that more than 54. 000 users of the service reported that the interruptions continued .

Xfinity / Comcast has been slow to report what is happening with the interruption of the service, despite the fact that through its profile Twitter @XfinitySupport said that “some customers are experiencing intermittent service interruptions as a result of a network problem.”

The company simply stated that “our teams are actively working to get affected customers back online, m As we continue to investigate. We apologize to those affected. ”
