Since very early the migrant caravan , made up of about 4, 000 persons, advanced through the isthmus of Tehuantepec, in the State of Oaxaca, from the community of Chahuites to reach the town of San Pedro Tapanatepec, “La tierra del Mango” .
During your tour of this Tuesday, November 9, approximately 11 kilometers, the organizers of the caravan announced that they were ruling out the possibility of walking to Mexico City, as originally planned, to continue on their way straight to the border with the United States.
“We have tried everything legal to make this Administration really respect human rights, but we they keep treating like animals. And for that reason we go to the northern border, to the state of Sonora , to a shelter where I am and everyone is welcome, ”said Pueblo Sin Fronteras activist Irineo Mujica in a statement to the media.
According to this new route change , the migrant march plans to move towards Coatzacoalcos, in the State of Veracruz , where they would rest for a period of approximately 10 days to allow time for more stragglers to join the movement.
By ruling out Mexico City as a route target, the migrant caravan will now focus on trying to get there to the State of Sonora where they will seek to cross the border into the United States through Arizona .
In the midst of the intense heat and fatigue, the migrant caravan will advance this afternoon towards ia to the town of El Jícaro, where they will spend the night and thus resume their journey on Wednesday to the municipality of Santo Domingo Zanatepec, located at 23 kilometers away in the State of Oaxaca.
