The plan reforms the Law of Regulation and Marketing of Beverages with Alcoholic Content , which currently prohibits the sponsorship of these products to sports activities and organizations and their consequent brand exposure on stages and uniforms .

The bill also establishes an 8% tax on the sponsorship of alcoholic beverages in sport, money that will be collected by the state Costa Rican Sports Institute and distributed between the National Olympic Committee (5%), the Cantonal Sports Committees (1%), the National Paralympic Committee (1%) and the same Icoder (1%).

The bill would force the Icoder to create campaigns for the prevention of domestic violence in coordination with other public institutions dedicated to protecting the rights of women, children and the elderly.
