HOUSTON – Federal authorities announced that they seized false vaccination cards from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC ) Targeted at two homes in Houston and Seagraves (Northwest Texas).
Federal customs agents made the seizures in a mail warehouse at Chicago International Airport this Monday, October 4.
According to the Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP), the two packages contained in total 41 fake vaccination cards.
“The cards appear to be fraudulent due to their poor quality and other discrepancies. Both shipments were made from China, “said the federal agency.
“We continue the fight against these criminals who use the pandemic to profit by selling falsified documents ”Said LaFonda Sutton-Burke, director of operations for the Chicago office.
Likewise, customs officials found two shipments that caught their attention. Upon examination, they found that they had Ivermectin and Hydroxychloricine tablets, two of the drugs that have been falsely promoted as effective against COVID – 19.
One of the shipments came from Mexico and another from China.
The manufacture of false vaccination cards is a violation of federal laws that can carry a penalty of up to 5 years in prison, according to the penal code.
