General Motors accelerates its step towards autonomy with an investment of $ 300 million in Momenta, an emerging company developing autonomous driving technology . In addition to this alliance, the company is making another important investment : $ 35 billion in electric vehicles, also favoring research and development of Ultium battery cells in the United States , his country of origin, which in the last two years has been growing rapidly around this type of technology. This mega investment, according to General Motors, started in 2020 and will continue until 2025.

“Momenta is committed to developing innovative artificial intelligence solutions to go beyond today’s frontier of possibilities and significantly improve personal mobility experiences. Together with GM, we will jointly invest in autonomous vehicle technologies to improve driving safety, convenience and efficiency, ” said Xudong Cao, CEO of Momenta .
