Two men were killed in Berkeley while arguing on the highway due to a traffic accident

Two men were run over when they were stopped in traffic lanes and were arguing over a road accident , early this Sunday on the Interstate 80, in the Bay Area.

Michael Bernardo, from 46 years and resident of Hercules; and Keandre Allums, of 28 years old and originally from San Pablo, suffered a crash at 1: 30 am Sunday in the lanes eastbound of I – 80 , west of University Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the two victims were in the back of the two cars involved in the crash , in the locality Berkeley, when they were hit by a Mini Cooper.

Early CHP investigations indicated that the driver of the Mini Cooper tried to dodge the two vehicles, but hit the two men .

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found the two men unconscious on the highway.

A third person was transferred a to the hospital with minor injuries possibly from being hit by the debris from the crash.

The driver of the Mini Cooper, a 50 year old man and a San Francisco resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities .

Per investigations, the California Highway Patrol closed four lanes until 2: 45 am

Police indicated that drugs and alcohol do not seem to be a factor that caused the road accident or the run over.
