The California Franchise Tax Board (CFTB), the entity in charge of distributing the stimulus check, will send payments based on the tax return of the 2020 .

To receive the check it will be necessary to present an independent tax return whether or not you are obliged to do it.

If you have not submitted your declaration of taxes you must do it before 15 of October of this year to be entitled to receive the check and the additional payment if you have a dependent.

The CFTB announced that the first round of checks will be sent via bank transfer using a direct deposit between this Wednesday, September 1 and 15 October .

However, for people who have not yet established the option of receiving direct deposit with the CFTB, the financial support will be sent by means of a paper check that will be based on the 3 digits of the zip code of your tax return of 2020.
