He beat his wife; when the police arrived he fled shortly after he crashed and died in a Houston hospital

HOUSTON – A man fleeing from the Police in a vehicle in the southwest of the city died after having crashed into another car during the chase this Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called to a scene where it was reported that a man was beating his wife at a residence located on the block 7200 from Hillcroft Street. Upon arriving at the scene, the police officers tried to arrest the man, but he managed to escape in a gray Honda Accord and sped off the Hillcroft.

Investigators said the man from 51 years lost control and crashed into a Ford F pickup – 450 on the Hillcroft.

The man was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital at the Texas Medical Center where he died hours later.

The wife was also taken to the hospital for the beating she suffered before the officers arrived, her condition has not been disclosed.

The driver of the Ford truck was not injured. The incident remains under investigation.
