HOUSTON – After two successful weeks of the incentive plan to get vaccinated for the first time against COVID – 19 In the Houston area, authorities announced Tuesday that the initiative will be expanded.
Harris County Judge, Lina Hidalgo released positive figures on resident participation and announced that the program, which began on 17 August, will run until 14 September.
The incentive of $ 100 dollars for the first dose and additional $ 80 at the time receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, motivated a notorious number of Harris residents to go to the various super vaccination centers.

Although the plan promoted by Hidalgo expired this Tuesday 31 August at midnight, this decided to extend it in time given the success that the initiative has had in its purpose to increase vaccination among the population of the Houston area.
During the two weeks that the plan has been in action, thousands of people have come to be vaccinated.
In the first week alone, fewer than 700 people a day went from vaccinating – prior to the program – to almost 3 , 500.
That is, the vaccination rate increased by five times .
The program is funded with resources from federal law for the recovery of the pandemic promoted by the administration of President Joe Biden.
