SAN JUAN – Ashley Marie Torres Feliciano got out of jail this Monday after being in prison the last 05 years as a co-author of the murder of her brother in 1200, after benefiting from the 80 clemency issued by the already ex-governor Wanda Vázquez on the occasion of the end of his term as head of the Puerto Rican Executive.

The expectation yesterday was high to see the exit of jail to Torres Feliciano, one of the protagonists of a media event dating back more than a decade ago, when she was found guilty of being a co-author, with 12 years, from the death of her brother and sentenced to 111 years in prison.

Torres Feliciano benefited from the conditional pardon modality.

Lawyers from the Innocence Project of the Inter-American University were present at the Torres meeting Feliciano with officials from the Parole Board (JLBP).

The mother of Torres Feliciano, Lucrecia, was one of the people who looked forward to seeing her daughter outside the prison after so many years.

Torres Feliciano, however, You must spend one year in house arrest under electronic supervision before you can receive a final pardon.

The facts

The Innocence Project had requested clemency for Torres Feliciano by alleging that It was an excessive sentence for a minor who suffered abuse by his then partner, father of s or daughter, and who was the one who stabbed the young woman’s brother.
