Rivian applied for six new trademarks last week , Roadshow reports citing a story published in the Rivian Owners Forum. According to the available information, these brands maintain the same formula of the debut models (R1T and R1S), an almost indisputable sign that they are names for new electric vehicles: R3S, R4S, R5S, R3T, R4T and R5T. According to this list and considering the meaning of the letters in the names of Rivian vehicles, it is likely that they are three new SUVs and three new pickups that would follow the star vehicles of this brand that, Currently, it is highly favored thanks to a large investment made by Ford and Amazon, its two main investors .

Rivian also got a huge boost a few weeks ago with the launch of the New Shepard, the rocket from Blue Origin, the aerospace company owned by Jeff Bezos. The founder of Amazon, who was also on the journey of a few minutes at a suborbital height, arranged vehicles of the brand to travel with his astronauts to the launch pad , thus sealing his preference for this company emerging automaker that already competes with industry greats such as Ford and Tesla, a company that despite being very successful has been somewhat affected by the delay of the production of its Cybertruck, the vehicle belonging to the segment in which, precisely, its rivals are ahead .

Until now, Rivian has scheduled the first deliveries of its R1T for September of this year , but this date remains uncertain, at least until the next few days since the company has had to postpone these deliveries several times in other opportunities, a fact that has also affected the R1S SUV. The registration of these new names is expected to correspond to the brand’s next models, but it is also estimated that due to the large number of delays, generated by the pandemic and then by the shortage of microchips, these models do not arrive before 2025. However, it represents good news as it is another proof of the profound energy transformation of the automotive industry, determined to achieve electrification in the coming years.
