This Tuesday morning, Luis Roberto Alves ‘Zague’ announced that his father José Alves passed away at 86 years .
Former America player, also known as ‘Lone Wolf’ , did history with America in the decade of the 60, by winning a championship, two league cups and obtaining the scoring title individual in season 1965 – 66.
“On behalf of my entire family and with deep regret I inform you that my father José Alves has passed away today at 86 years old “, wrote Zague in a message to announce the death of his father.
” A man who is gentle, loving and always ready to help, my father gave him his heart goes out to his family and friends from both Brazil and Mexico. ”

The team also paid a small tribute to the ‘Lone Wolf’ during training in Coapa. By keeping a minute of silence and then breaking into applause.

José Alves was born on 19 of August 1934 in Brazil, he played in Brazilian teams such as Botafogo, Corinthians and Santos, in the latter he was next to ‘Pelé’.
The ‘Lone Wolf’ is the fourth top scorer in the history of America, with 106 annotations .
