Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) President of Mexico, defended his strategy of “hugs, not bullets” to fight crime, as he considered that it is more effective to support than to shoot, this during his visit to the state of Sinaloa, the birthplace of Joaquín “el Chapo” Guzmán and the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS) .
“We have a different conception, when I said: ‘hugs, not bullets’, they even mocked and still, but we are going to show them that it is more effective, more humane, to face the problem of insecurity by attending to the causes that originate violence, it is a challenge, it is a challenge, but we are going to succeed, ”said the federal president from Culiacán.

“We have been doing this for a long time and this whole plan is being consolidated for the well-being of the people, that young people have options, that they do not get hooked, that they are not part of of the reserve army for crime ”, he declared.
The Tabasco said that, because of that, the The Government has invested in Sinaloa in Welfare programs so that young people have job options.
“To have an idea of how our strategy is different, violence cannot be faced with violence, it cannot and does not work and it is not human to face evil with evil, evil must be faced by doing the good, ”he reiterated.
The Chief Executive boasted the support that is delivered in Badiraguato, the cradle of drug lords such as Joaquín Guzmán Loera, Rafael Caro Quintero, alias the Narco de Narcos and Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo alias Don Neto.
He stressed, for example, that in that municipality it operates the Benito Juárez University, a scheme promoted by his Government.
“In Badiraguato”, he assured, “it is being invested as never before”.
In the middle of the electoral ban due to the popular consultation, López Obrador highlighted the social support for students, the elderly and peasants.
“This had never happened.”
In a morning conference, he considered that his strategy does not like the conservatives, since they have an authoritarian mentality.
“It doesn’t suit them, they don’t like it, because they bet a lot on an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, that we all stay one-eyed and toothless,” he said.
