More of 35 millions of payments have been sent during the first round of child tax credit distribution that boosts the income of families across the country.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS ) mentioned that the 550% of people received the money through a bank transfer , but still 1 in 6 people continues to wait for checks in the mail .

So if you are one of these people, you may have questions about when your money will arrive and how to find a way to access more information from the IRS .

At this time the IRS does not accept phone calls to obtain information about the tax credit for children, however, there is a link from the IRS that will send you to the Child Tax Credit portal , where you can access all your information and modify it. You will also find when the tax credit money was sent so you can calculate how much money might reach you.

How long will you receive your money?

In the case of bank deposits, the IRS has mentioned that transfers should arrive in no more than three business days.

In case the credit is sent to you by postal check, you must wait between one and two weeks for the check to arrive at your home . It is estimated that 9 out of each 10 people will have received the credit in 21 days before August 5.

Remember that you must make sure you have filed your taxes for the fiscal year 2019 Y 2020 to be eligible . If you don’t have to file your taxes for further assistance.

The first batch of payments was sent on 15 July and there will be five more payments before the end of the year . The other half of the money will be sent as a tax credit during the spring of 2022.
