TEXAS – Harris County Sheriff’s Office officers recovered a vehicle with a man’s body inside after a woman called 911 saying she was involved in the murder, investigators reported.

Using sonar equipment, the Harris County Sheriff’s dive unit managed to locate a white Buick sedan, near the block 7699 of Thompson Street almost intersection with Jones Street near Baytown Thursday night. They have been looking for the vehicle since Wednesday.

According to investigators, the victim’s girlfriend reported the man missing from the Tuesday morning.

Tuesday afternoon, Fransha Brooks called 911 implicating herself in the murder. On Thursday night Brooks, who is 32, was charged.

“A woman called and informed us that she had been involved in a murder and gave us information about a white Buick,” explained Sgt. Ben Beall of the Homicide Division. “Brooks did not say that he had shot a man and that he had driven the vehicle into a canal near the intersection of Jones and Thompson before going home.”

According to investigators, the victim and Brooks had an argument that escalated and began fighting over a gun before Brooks allegedly shot the man.
