The explosion of the past 30 June, which left 17 injured people, was due to a miscalculation made by the bomb squad when carrying out a fireworks seizure in a Los Angeles home, county authorities reported.

Los Angeles County Police Chief Michel Moore indicated that five members of the squad have already been removed from their field duties while the investigation of the events continues.
Due to the unusual nature of the explosion and its consequences, the Los Angeles Police Department and the FBI revised their protocols regarding the detonation of explosives .
The error of the members of the bomb squad was in not calculating the weight of the ex plosives without the help of a scale , to then detonate them inside a chamber, whose official name is total containment tank, which did not contain the charge introduced inside .

Last 30 June, members of the bomb squad flocked to a residence located in the south of Los Angeles, place where a person of Latino origin was found and who stored tons of illegal pyrotechnics .

Among the injured were 9 police officers and a federal agent.
