Acevedo stopped being seen hosting the nighttime edition of Univision News on 27 June 2020 , but it was months later, in November, that his departure was made official in a supposed mutual agreement between the chain and the journalist.
At that time there were many versions about his sudden departure, when he was still under contract. One of them was that Coronell would have claimed that he was too focused on CBS and would have left his job at Univision a bit sloppy. Another that decided not to renew the contract because it has a higher offer on Telemundo, the latter time showed that it was not the reason.
