The Delta variant of COVID – 19 represents the current concern of health authorities as it has occurred more frequently since the beginning of June, a trend that also occurs in other parts of the United States.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is aware that just under 4 million residents in the locality have not yet been vaccinated , so the probability of an increase in cases is high.

It is a concern that there are millions of residents in Los Angeles who have not yet been vaccinated

The data available at the moment suggests that people who have already been fully vaccinated are well pr Orected for possible serious infections by the Delta variant.

For some doctors, it is worrying that there is not a greater number of people interested in being vaccinated before the threat posed by the new strain of the disease.

It was reported this week that in Los Angeles County, as well as the rest of California , the use of masks will continue to be required within schools , both for teachers and students.

According to public health authorities in Los Angeles, the people most affected by the new Delta variant are those who have not yet been vaccinated.

The Los Angeles Department of Public Health also confirmed an increase of 165% of new infections with a daily average of 3.5 for each 100, 000 inhabitants, when last week it was 1. 74.

It is estimated that the Delta variant, detected for the first time in India, already represents half of the cases registered in the United States.

Doctors reiterate that COVID – 19 is still a disease with a high risk of contagion and that can be transmitted quite easily, particularly indoors.

The Delta variant has mainly affected people under the age of 30 years, a population that was not as affected when the disease began, declared last year a pandemic by World Health Organization.
