Yesterday, Stellantis celebrated its EV Day 2021, an event that was broadcast on alive and that served to celebrate the technology that this group has been implementing and also to announce some things that are to come. Among them, the launch of a completely electric truck, under the RAM brand, which would reach the market to compete with others of its kind such as the Ford F – 150 Lightning and Tesla’s Cybertruck, scheduled for production later this year . As reported by Roadshow, during the event a brief preview of what this vehicle will be was shown which, at first glance, will have a futuristic silhouette “that looks like something out of a science fiction movie.”
Stellantis, in addition , committed to increasing its investment in electrical technology to 2025 in 30 billion euros and lead to carry out important changes in its production so that the brands that make up this group end up getting closer to electrification every day. Some of those changes involve the development of high energy density battery technology and the creation of four platforms for electric vehicles:
1. STLA Small, with a range of up to 500 kilometers / 300 miles
two. STLA Medium, with a range of up to 700 kilometers / 440 miles
3. STLA Large, with a range of up to 800 kilometers / 500 miles
4. STLA frame, with a range of up to 800 kilometers / 500 miles
“Our electrification journey is possibly the most important brick we need to lay, already that we began to reveal the future of Stellantis only six months after it was born, and now the entire company is in full execution mode to exceed the expectations of all customers and accelerate our role in redefining the way the business moves. world ”, said Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis . “We have the scale, skills, spirit, and sustainability to achieve tight double-digit operating income margins, lead the industry with benchmark efficiencies, and deliver electrified vehicles that ignite passion.”
According to RAM CEO Mike Koval, the truck, which will hit the market in 2024 , would be made to defeat its predecessors, thanks to new technologies that will allow it to use its energy much more efficiently and also charge much faster than the others. During the event another project of the RAM brand called “Range Electric Paradigm Breaker” was also mentioned, but it was only said that it will be another truck without further details.
