Before the match between Errol Spence Jr. and Manny Pacquiao has generated much controversy surrounding the Filipino boxer . It was presumed that “Pac-Man” would have refused to take anti-doping tests for their future meeting which is scheduled for the next 21 of August. However, the president of the World Boxing Council , Mauricio Sulaimán , called irresponsible those accusations about the fighter of 42 year old.
In some statements for Behind The Gloves , Sulaiman defended Pacquiao. “The promoter will hire VADA for the clean boxing program. Manny Pacquiao never had any problem with doping. He has had more than a hundred tests done, I don’t have no doubt. It is irresponsible for someone to insinuate or try to discredit Pacquiao for doping ”, said the leader.
The return of “Pac-Man” was highly questioned. Even Floyd Mayweather himself was in charge of indicating that the return of the Filipino was subject to his despair and financial problems . However, Sulaimán was in charge of enhancing the career of the veteran boxer and speak positively of his return.
“ Manny is a legendary champion, he will be in the Hall of Fame for sure . He is a huge influence in the Philippines as governor and for the world he is defying time once again. He has returned to the sport and has beaten champions like Thurman, who was very solid and very competitive. There are people who think that Pacquiao can do anything ”, he expressed.
Manny , with 42 years old, will contest the welterweight champion belts of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF) , both in possession of Errol Spence .
“ (Pacquiao) has a chance to win any fight in which he enters the ring . He is a proud member of the boxing community and deserves the opportunity, ”concluded Mauricio Sulaimán.
