President A ndrés Manuel López Obrador ( AMLO ) accused the Administration of Control of Drugs ( DEA , for its acronym in English) to fabricate a crime against General Salvador Cienfuegos , indicated by links with drug trafficking .
This Thursday, the Secretary of Defense in the Government of Enrique Peña Nieto was exonerated of ties to the narco and his case was archived.

“The FGR has acted because it was considered that the elements of evidence presented by the US Government, in this case by the agency known by its acronym as DEA , have no probative value to process, to initiate a trial against the General Cienfuegos .
“Why did this research as well? Without sustenance, without proof ? I want to clarify that, even though they had been investigating for a long time, they detained the General before the elections, ”commented López Obrador .
In a conference at Palacio Nacional , the Mexican president stated that impunity must end and that crimes must be invented.
“It is a matter that basically corresponded to the Prosecutor’s Office to resolve, but in one way or another it has to do with the Government that I represent, is a decision taken by the Prosecutor’s Office , but that the Government that I represent secondarily; that is, it endorses, endorses.
“Because we maintain that impunity should end, of course corruption . But, also, that there cannot be retaliation, revenge and that crimes cannot be invented; that no one should act that way, regardless of who it is “, he said.
