Californians Can Win A Free Vacation Package If They Are Vaccinated Against COVID-19

Winners will get a trip to one of six California destinations prepared by the Governor’s Office and will receive $ 2, 000 dollars to offset travel expenses

Governor Gavin Newsom announced Monday a new incentive for California residents to vaccinate against the coronavirus and travel within the state. This is the “California Dream Vacation” plan, which will give those who are vaccinated at least partially the chance to win a vacation package.

Eligible people will be entered into a drawing to visit six different destinations across the state for free. Winners will also receive $ 2, 000 dollars to offset the travel expenses , according to the governor’s office.

It has not yet been made public how many people will be able to win the “California Dream Vacation” package but what the governor’s office did announce is that the draw will take place on July 1 .

Governor Newsom also recalled that this Tuesday 15, reopening day, 10 vaccinated Californians will receive $ 1.5 million from dollars if they win the lottery with which the state has tried to encourage vaccination among residents. In the draws of the last two Fridays, 30 people have earned $ 50, 000 dollars each and a total of two million people will get a gift card of $ 50 dollars if they got their first dose after 27 May.

Newsom announced the initiative at an event in which it highlighted state investments to the travel and tourism industry as part of its recovery plan for the Californian economy. Therefore, it is not only an incentive to get vaccinated but also aims to stimulate tourism.

Requirements to qualify for the vacation package

Only people who have 18 years or more and are at least partially vaccinated .

The governor’s office has made public the six types of packages that will be drawn, according to KCRA :

– Discover the best of Anaheim (for four people).

– Greater Deluxe Package Palm Springs (for two people).

– Ex premium experience in Los Angeles (for four).

– Dream holidays on the beach of San Diego (four people).

– Dream vacation in the center of San Diego (four people).

– Welcome pack “Our Gate Is Open” from San Francisco (for four).

Selection of winners

As has happened in the draws for cash prizes by Vax for the Win of the last two Fridays, the winners of the vacation packages will be randomly selected from the group of eligible Californians . Winners must complete the vaccination schedule in order to request their vacation package.
