Mass Shooting in Austin's Popular 6th Street Area Leaves 13 People Shot; the shooter has not been arrested


Austin Police reported this Saturday at a press conference that no one has died and that six injured people were taken to hospitals on patrols because ambulances were having difficulty reaching the scene .

TEXAS – A mass shooting broke out in one of the entertainment districts most popular in Austin this Saturday morning and 13 people were injured, two of them are in the hospital in critical condition, according to the authorities.

The shooting occurred in the area known as 6th Street in the heart of downtown , the area is full of bars and clubs that stay open until the wee hours of the morning.

“6th Street is often a very congested, but this morning there were a lot of people I think it has been the largest number of people we have seen since the beginning of the pandemic and that is why the ambulances struggled to get there, ”said Joseph Chacón, Austin Police Chief.

The shooting broke out at that of the 1: 30 am on Sixth Street, so far the reason is not known and the police said that the shooter could not be arrested. The popular street that is located half a mile from the Texas Capitol is closed this Saturday morning while authorities continue to investigate.

Chacón said the FBI has been integrated into research.

The : 00 am no person had died.

The Police say they do not have a good description of the shooter, only that he is a man.

Investigators They are reviewing surveillance video of the area. Chacón asked that people with information on the case call the police. News in development we will be updating.
