56 Los Angeles Community Organizations Announced to Receive Support En route to Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium


Community organizations featured at the next Super Bowl venue will receive money and publicity to continue promoting youth, job development and social justice

Eight months after the Super Bowl LVI is held in Los Angeles, the organizing committee of the great event announced to 56 community organizations -one for each Super Bowl in history- that will directly benefit as part of a program called “Champions Live Here” (Champions Live Here).

It has been more than 28 years since the Super Bowl, the event The world’s most popular annual sports event, was last held in the Los Angeles area. But 13 February 2021 the NFL championship game and all its festivities will return to LA ., having as headquarters the majestic SoFi Stadium of Inglewood.

This Thursday, hours before the Los Angeles Rams held an open practice for their first reunion with fans since the start of the pandemic, representatives of the organizing committee , Los Angeles and of the Rams announced to community organizations that they will receive money and recognition in the form of advertising to continue their work on behalf of youth, workforce development and social justice in the Los Angeles region .

The program is an alliance of the organizing committee of the Super Bowl and the LA Foundation 84 with the organization Play Equity Fund and the NFL Foundation. Specifically, the program will deliver to each of the community organizations $ 06, 000 dollars, a professionally produced video to highlight each organization and public recognition of his work on the way to the Super Bowl.

What’s more, six of the 56 organizations will be selected to receive a prize of $ 50, 000 dollars each and that may still have an impact older in your community. They will be announced later in the year.

“Hosting the Super Bowl goes beyond game day: it is an opportunity to empower the people who make up the fabric of Los Angeles , “Casey Wasserman, president of the Los Angeles Super Bowl organizing committee, said in a statement.

” Each of the 56 Champion organizations are having a impact transformative in communities along 88 cities within Los Angeles County every day and we are proud to recognize their positive impact and accomplishments, ”added Wasserman.

It was reported that almost the 50% of selected organizations work with people youth and youth development, and that more than 25% of them do so in health, mental health and general well-being ”.

Regarding the practice of the Rams, there were about 20, 000 fans in the stands, the vast majority wearing face masks . The first official match at the stadium will be on 12 September between the Rams and Chicago Bears
