The accident occurred about 1: 44 in the morning on the Buena Vista Canal, located near Alpha Street and Bateman Avenue, as Sgt. Rudy Gatto of the Irwindale Police Department said. And it took place hours after a dark-colored sedan fired at a white BMW and caused a collision with the central divider of the motorway 605 , also at the height of Irwindale.
Four people from Come in 18 and 44 years were at the time of the accident inside a Ford Model LTD of 1986. The car was on an “S” shaped street when it crossed a fence and fell into the water.
The two people who were injured were taken to a center in local trauma with severe injuries , said police. The other two occupants of the vehicle were not injured in the accident.
A heavy duty crane was in charge of removing the vehicle from the canal. The city police shared a video on social media showing how the tow truck operated to remove the vehicle.
The driver of the car told the officers that the brakes had failed , but the causes are still under investigation. Police said they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
