Gunshots in Azusa, in the San Gabriel Valley, cause a “shelter in place” order

The authorities launched a police emergency this Sunday afternoon near Azusa Pacific University , in the San Gabriel Valley, where shots were reported. The Azusa Police Department detained the suspect hours later.

From the university campus they asked the residents to avoid the area and to take shelter , as published on social networks by the security authorities of the educational center.

“A police emergency has developed on or near the University campus Azusa Pacific requiring police action. Take refuge in your place, stay inside and away from the windows ”, they warned the Sunday afternoon.

Two hours later, at 2: 38 pm, the same Twitter account reported that the police emergency is still active and that the order to take cover was also in effect.

It was around s three in the afternoon when the emergency order was “stabilized” after, according to the university authorities, the Azusa Police Department placed the suspect in custody. At that time, the order for shelter-in-place in force until then was also lifted.
