What's wrong is wrong: Concacaf launches campaign that seeks to eradicate the homophobic cry

Concacaf launched an anti-discrimination campaign which is focused on motivating fans to reject and eradicate the offensive homophobic yell at goalkeepers. In Mexico-Iceland the FIFA protocol was applied to sanction

As prior to the return of the Concacaf Nations League , the highest soccer entity in the region launched the campaign “ WhatsWrongIsWrong “, in Spanish, “ What’s wrong is wrong “, with the intention of taking a solid step in the quest to eradicate the famous homophobic cry traditionally made by fans of the Mexican national team.

“ Confederación motivates everyone to take a positive and inclusive attitude to the game, and stop a chant that is offensive, has no place in football and puts the LGBT + community at risk of feeling excluded from sport “, reads the press release published on the Concacaf website.

The campaign seeks to highlight that the cry discriminates Thorium would not be accepted anywhere on a day-to-day basis. Concacaf published a couple of videos, which will serve as the beginning of a series of clips in this regard.

“ This campaign is a big step in our efforts to eradicate the “goalkeeper’s cry”, and make it totally clear that we oppose all forms of discrimination in football , ”said Victor Montagliani, President of Concacaf and Vice President of FIFA.

FIFA Protocol against homophobic shouting

In addition to the campaign, Concacaf informed that it will apply the FIFA three-step protocol in both the Concacaf Nations League and the Gold Cup.
