Pedro Infante: This is what the humble house in Mazatlán where he was born looks like today


The house remained abandoned for several years until it was bought by a woman, who never imagined that ‘The Immortal’ had grown up there

Next April will be fulfilled 64 years of the death of the great Pedro Infante , who lost his life, the 15 April 1957, in a plane crash .

Although he died with only 39 years, the interpreter had more than enough time to build a career full of successes, which continues to be remembered over the generations.

The fame he achieved is such that the humble house that saw him born is, to this day, one of the main attractions tourism in the city of Mazatlán , in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.

The residence, of a single floor and tile roof, was the home of the actor also h until his family decided to leave the area in search of a new beginning in the city of Guamuchil , located about 200 miles north.

After your move, the house, marked with the number 1106 of Constitución Street , remained abandoned and forgotten.

Everything changed when a woman, by name Sandra Ortega Cervantes , acquired it, without knowing that ‘El Rey de las Rancheras’ had been born there.

Sandra bought the house, in the decade of the 70, after getting married. At that time there was no longer any memory of the Infante Cruz, so it was until years later that he learned that it had been the home of one of the greatest exponents of Mexican music.

He 20 May 1979, the authorities placed, on its facade of tone orange, a plaque in which it was attested that the great Pedro Infante was born there.

“Homage of his Mazatlan countrymen to the idol Pedro Infante Cruz. In this house was born the 18 April 1917, according to the certificate number 570 issued in this city ” , it reads from a fragment of the plate.

After learning about the origin of the property, Sandra decided to transform it and now houses a museum, where Some pieces are exhibited that were granted to him by the family of the also actor.

Access to the museum, known as ‘Rinconcito de Pedro Infante’, is totally free and is visited daily by hundreds of his followers.
