After the two consecutive defeats that Cruz Azul suffered at the beginning of the tournament, the Machine put on a streak of 12 consecutive wins that made it the best team in the regular round of the Clausura Tournament 2021.

After advancing to the fourth final as favorites, and lose to Toluca in the first leg 1-2 , those led by the Peruvian Juan Reynoso achieved a balance in defense and attack that allows them to reach the final with the sheet of favorites against Club Santos Laguna.

The executive president of Cruz Azul, Álvaro Dávila , thinks that this final will be the beginning of a great heavenly era in Mexican football: “I want to do another great stage in Cruz Azul. You have to think about training players, that they grow and that there be a time in the team. ”

He also thinks that the players feel they have a debt to his hobby. “I feel that the team has become more integrated during these months: from January to here. They have an outstanding debt with their hobby, especially . Players are thinking about their goal. The goal they expect (to be champions) and the entire fans await. I think we are very close to achieving it. With all due respect for a rival as powerful as Santos Laguna. I am sure they are prepared for this challenge ”, Dávila commented to the program Line of 4 in TUDN.
