Los Angeles is ranked as the city that suffers the most from mosquitoes in the United States

According to the list of a pest control company, Los Angeles surpasses Atlanta, which had been in first place seven years in a row

The Angels has received the unwelcome distinction of being America’s worst city on the subject of mosquitoes , according to a classification of a company specialized in pest control .

Orkin published its annual ranking and for the first time in eight years the city of Atlanta did not appear in the first position in mosquitoes . Los Angeles, despite its dry climate, has overtaken him.

The list of the worst mosquito cities in the country was obtained by the number of customers that contracted Orkin services to combat them between April 1, 2020 and the 31 March 2021 and includes residential and commercial services.

Unlike Atlanta and other cities in the south and southeast of the country, Los Angeles is a region of low humidity and very little rain, especially in recent years .

But the increase in mosquito cases is presumably due to the warmer climate of Southern California causing more people to have outdoor activities, such as in backyards of houses, especially during the pandemic .

Other California cities that appear on Orkin’s list are San Diego ( 39), San Fran cisco (39) and Fresno (47). San Diego and Fresno had never appeared on the list.

So now that summer is approaching, it’s a good time to get out the mosquito repellent or resort to some effective home remedies .
