'Friends': The seventh friend that the production decided to eliminate
The meeting of Friends has all the fans of the series talking about the most iconic moments who lived next to their six protagonists, in addition many now turn to the past and remember all those decisions that could have changed the course of comedy. One of them was the seventh friend they originally wanted to include in the group .
In the book titled Generation Friends: An Inside Look at the Show That Defined a Television Era , author Saul Austerlitz reveals several details that the creators of the production had contemplated at first. One of them was the seventh member of the group that was originally going to be called “Pat the Cop” (Pat the policeman, in Spanish).
One of the highest heads of NBC had asked for a major supporting character to be added, so the writers came up with the idea of creating “Pat”, who would be an addition. the group and would rub shoulders with them in different situations.
The idea was finally discarded after the same group of scriptwriters begged the producers to scrap it.
“The writers made a great attempt with the character, even now they had the person who would play the part , yet they hated the result so much that they pleaded with NBC to abandon the idea ”, reveals the book published in the 2019, “the ca dena agreed and Pat the Cop disappeared. ”
Fortunately the original group of six members was not altered and while some iconic supporting characters were added, throughout the 10 seasons the dynamics of friends was not affected.

The last episode of the sitcom premiered in 1995 aired on May 6 of the year 2004 and has since accumulated a large fan base who cannot wait for the expected reunion.
The meeting of Friends will be a special episode which will be released next 27 of May through the streaming platform HBO Max.
