Violent incidents on the Southern California freeways are not unusual, but this week authorities said they have already registered at least 80 incidents of shooting with a firearm against vehicles on local freeways since the end of April.
The alarming figure has a tinge of mystery after numerous drivers recently discovered bullet marks after driving on the Freeway 91 , in the segment that runs from the Freeway 605 until the 15, south and southeast of Los Angeles. There are no clues as to who the perpetrator of the shots or why.
The situation was still set but on Friday when a 6-year-old boy died in a hospital after being shot during an incident on the Freeway 55 in the city of Orange. The boy was identified as Aiden Leos.

The California Highway Patrol ( CHP ) said the fatal incident was due to a confrontation on the road near Chapman Avenue, when the little boy was in the back seat of a car Chevrolet that was driven by his mother. The suspects, allegedly a man and a woman, continued to be wanted by the authorities until Saturday afternoon.
While the CHP stressed that this incident is not connected to bullet hail reported since April on the Freeway 91 and other highways of the region, does contribute to increase the alarm about the dangerous situation .

This Thursday there were at least eight shootings. ABC7 reported that one of them involved an SUV driven by a woman at the height of the city of Corona . The rear window of the vehicle was smashed. It is worth mentioning that the road had traffic at the time of the shooting or shots because it was rush hour.
“What is happening is that people continue to drive. By the time they stop, they say they are already 5 or 10 miles away from the place, and then they call 911, ”he said. CHP officer Florentino Olivera to the media.
“So we no longer have an exact location. We have a rough one, but it helps if someone could stop immediately to report (the shots). ”
