A two-run home run by Chris Taylor in the third inning was all the pitching of Los Angeles Dodgers needed this Friday to beat the San Francisco Giants 2-1 at the start of a high-caliber series in Major League Baseball.

The Dodgers this time supported the outstanding pitching by starter Trevor Bauer, who allowed only 2 hits in 6.1 innings. He struck out 11.
Taylor’s hit was the key moment of the game in the Bay. He landed it against Alex Wood, a Dodgers expitcher who now shines with San Francisco.

The Dodgers have won their five games this week and nine of their last 10 to continue climbing positions in the brutal Division West of the National League, where San Francisco and San Diego lead with a record of 28 – 17. Los Angeles improved to 27 – 18 , a game away.
Giants and Padres have the best record in all of MLB, and the Dodgers now have the fifth-best record.
