The Christmas games on December 25, Steelers against Chiefs and Texans against Ravens and the halftime show offered by Beyoncé, set a cumulative audience record of 65 million viewers, the NFL reported this Thursday.

Both matches and the performance of Beyoncé, considered the greatest pop star of the 21st century according to Billboard magazine, had an average audience of 24 million views through Netflix, the leading real-time broadcast platform, which was followed on more than 200 countries.

According to data from the Nielsen Company, an American company that measures media audiences, these games were the most viewed in the history of the NFL via streaming.

The game in which the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Houston Texans averaged 24.3 million viewers per minute, making it the most watched game on Christmas Day since 2001.

The clash in which the champions Kansas City Chiefs beat the Pittsburgh Steelers captured the attention of 24.1 million followers every 60 seconds.

Viewership peaked at the Ravens-Steelers halftime show, which starred Beyoncé with just over 27 million viewers.

The numbers released by the NFL far surpassed the most-watched National Basketball Association (NBA) game on the same day between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors, which attracted 7.76 million viewers.

This represented the most watched game on Christmas in the last five seasons, after the great duel between LeBron James and Steph Curry.

The game with the fewest viewers was the last of the night between the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns with 3.8 million viewers.

For its part, the Celtics vs. 76ers had the second best rating with 5.1 million viewers.

The Knicks vs. Spurs and Timberwolves vs. Mavs had 4.9 and 4.3 million respectively.

The average audience during the NBA Games was 5.25 million. Compared to 2023, the audience increased 84% in this edition, showing a clear success for the NBA.
