Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce made NFL history this Wednesday in the 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kelce became the player with the most Touchdown receptions in the Kansas City Chiefs franchise.
For his part, Mahomes is the quarterback with the most touchdown passes in the first eight seasons of the NFL.
Kelce received Mahomes’ pass in the fourth quarter for his 77th career TD reception. With this number, the Kansas City star left behind Hall of Fame member Tony González.
Now, the youngest Kelce is the player with the most receptions in the history of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Travis is the 37th player in league history to reach 77 or more receiving touchdown passes. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end will look to be the 13th player to have 100 or more TD receptions.
Patrick Mahomes with a great game against Pittsburgh
Patrick Mahomes continues to make history in the NFL. With the three touchdown passes he achieved this Wednesday, he surpassed Peyton Manning as the quarterback with the most TD passes in his first eight years in the league.
Dan Marino, Peyton Manning and Patrick Mahomes were the only players with 240 touchdown passes in their first eight years in the league.
The 29-year-old quarterback could be the first to reach 250 in the final week of the season.
Mahomes also tied Brett Favre with games of 300 or more passing yards plus three touchdown passes. Patrick and Favre added 27 games with these records.
He will need two more games to catch up to Kirk Cousins and Matthew Stafford with 29 games of at least 3 TD passes and 300+ passing yards.
With this victory, the Kansas City Chiefs secured the best record as number 1 and will have home field in the postseason.
