Against all odds, Efraín Juárez achieved what no one expected: two titles in four months.
Probably not even the managers expected these results so quickly, although they did trust him and the example is that Gustavo Fermani, sports director of the National Athletic, He explained why they hired him, even though he had not yet made his debut as a manager.
In an interview with W Radio from Colombiathe manager, who has been dedicated to training players for 36 years and who is recognized for the work he did at River Plate, confessed that Juárez fit perfectly into the plan he had for the purslane team, despite his inexperience in the position. .
“We decided to change, especially in the training methodology, in the change from day to day and also in group leadership. We started scouting to get the new coach, we put together many folders and we arrived at Efraín’s resume.”, he began the story in which he emphasized that his achievement was not a coincidence nor a random choice.
“Through conversations with him and getting to know him, we realized that he was closely linked to everything we do. in the club; also handling the issue of formative football and he met those conditions, he had the same idea of work and pFor us it was not so relevant that it was the first team he directed as group leader because we saw in him who could lead Nacional at that moment”, he continued.
Fermani was pleased with the double of the team led by Efraín Juárez; However, he made it clear that this is just beginning and that we must look forward.
“We are on the right path, making Nacional competitive at a continental level again, We have been working for 45 days to continue prioritizing the squad we have and we understand that the players are the most important thing to lead this project. The celebrations are over and we are already working on what’s next”, he assured.
The next great challenge for Juárez and his team is the Copa Libertadores, since they have just won their ticket, so they will have an excellent opportunity to test themselves against the best on the continent and increase their level.
Finally, he emphasized the main objective of the team after the arrival of Juárez, that is the training of young peoplejust as it is done in Argentina and Brazil.
“We have worked with it from a very early age, in Colombia we are making that change, it is going to look for the increasingly younger player, as is done in the south of the continent. We determine a DNA and through the institution we can go to that search from the earliest age,” he concluded.
