Raúl Jiménez grateful for his 2024: “I returned to my best version”

The Mexican Raul Jimenez He is very happy with the great moment he is currently experiencing with Fulham despite having been a substitute in his team’s goalless draw against Southampton this Sunday in the Premier League.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the “Wolf of Tepeji” assured that he feels at his best with the serious skull injury suffered four years ago when he was with Wolverhampton completely in the past.

“I think I got back to my best not too long ago, so I’m happy to be back. “I still have a lot to give for Fulham and for football.”said the Mexican forward who this season has already scored five goals in 17 games played so far in the English championship.

Raúl Jiménez, 33, recalled that he was not very sure if he would be able to play football again after that serious skull fracture he suffered in 2020 that left him out of action for a good part of the season, a situation which he ended up overcoming in the best way.

“After everything that happened, maybe the doctors were not so sure that I would be able to return to the fields, but I never forgot to think that I was going to return”pointed out the Mexican attacker who this season regained the starting position at Fulham after an irregular last season.

Raúl Jiménez, who entered in the 62nd minute of this Sunday’s match in place of the Brazilian Rodrigo Muniz (who had been the Mexican’s substitute), also recalled that it has been an extensive process to reach this point in his career.

“It has been a very, very long journey. “My first year (after the injury) was just recovery, doing some exercises that I never imagined I would do, like just strengthening my neck with a helmet and different things.”highlighted the attacker.

Looking forward to continuing at Fulham

In the midst of his great news, Raúl Jiménez touched on the topic of his current situation at Fulham where he is excited to continue beyond the current season in which his contract ends, which he highlights has a clause that would allow him to continue at the club for 2026.

“We haven’t talked (about renewal) yet. My contract ends in the summer, but if they activate the clause, I will be happy because I am happy here in Fulham, I am happy here in London. It’s a really good city, a really good club that I like. If it is activated, I will be very happy”he assured.
