A person was arrested this Saturday while trying to scale a temporary fence near the White Housewithout the incident posing a danger to US President Joe Biden or his family, according to a spokesperson for the US Secret Service.
The incident occurred around 11:00 local time on a large temporary fence placed near the White House in preparation for the presidential inauguration of Donald Trumpwhich will take place on January 20.
The Secret Service said the person was “quickly detained and arrested for illegal entry,” according to information cited by ABC.
The detained person did not break the fence and did not represent a danger to the security of the White House or its occupants.
Biden and his family are there this weekend.
The arrested person was turned over to the custody of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police for processing.
The authorities did not identify the detainee.
