This Wednesday December 18 payments to retirees continue after May 1997 by the Social Security Administration (SSA) for amounts that reach up to $4,873 dollars.
The distribution dates of these checks are established through a payment schedule that takes into account the days of birth of the beneficiaries. The first check of this month was sent last Wednesday, December 11 to those born between the 1st and 10th of any month.
This week, It corresponds to retirees born between the 11th and 20th of any monthThen, on December 24, the last payment of this year is expected for retirees born between the 21st and 31st of any month.
During this year, the amounts in retirees’ checks were established as follows:
- Retirees at age 62: $2,710 dollars
- Retirees at age 67: $3,822 dollars.
- Retirees at age 70: $4,873 dollars.
For next year, both retirees and beneficiaries of other social programs will receive an increase in their monthly payments due to the 2025 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) of 2.5%.
