Trump nominates Troy Edgar as deputy secretary of Homeland Security

The elected president donald trump announced on Saturday that he has chosen Troy Edgar for the position of undersecretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

“I am pleased to nominate Troy Edgar for the position of Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security. “Troy previously worked for me as CFO and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Administration for Homeland Security, where he did an outstanding job managing its $90 billion budget, providing resources for critical immigration policies, and funding construction of the wall,” Trump wrote in a publication in Truth Social.

Trump added that Edgar is currently “an IBM executive” and was mayor of Los Alamitos, California, “where he helped me lead the city and county revolt against sanctuary cities in 2018.”

The president-elect stated feel “very excited” about this incorporation and assured that Edgar will contribute to meeting the goals of his administration, especially in matters of immigration and national security.
