Both the Spanish Sergio Canales like Jesús “Tecatito” Corona ended the duel on Thursday night in Puebla vs. América in the first leg of the Liga MX grand final, for which they forcibly entered the referee’s locker room and now run the risk of being suspended and missing the grand final against the Eagles.
Both Monterrey players felt affected by the work of whistler Víctor Alfonso Cáceres in two very specific plays. The first that the Spaniard claimed was the tying goal by Kevin Álvarez due to a foul by Henry Martín on goalkeeper Luis “Mochis” Cárdenas and that of Corona for a cut he had on his ankle due to a tackle by Ramón Juárez from few friends that required stitches.
This gave way for both Canales and Corona to go directly to the whistlers’ locker room when they entered their locker room and left their shirt. to want to enter by force as reported by several media outlets that showed the anger and annoyance at what they considered poor work by the referees.
Canales demanded and claimed that he had not gone to the VAR to review the play and Tecatito that only the aforementioned whistler got the yellow card, when that entry was of few friends and demanded a direct red.
The position of the players caused a whole mess in which the managers of América almost got involved. like Héctor González Iñarritu who complained about their actions against the whistlers and questioned whether the arbitration is identical for both parties.
The truth is that none of them were satisfied and everything will depend on what the referee Víctor Alfonso Cáceres has reported in the card. to find out if both players are only fined or finally suspended if the men in black consider that the complaints were serious.
