“We have done a lot to create a new relationship, that is why the cartels, for example, in Sinaloa, are being dismantled,” Salazar stated.

Historic fentanyl seizure
Salazar also explained that from the embassy “they work and give ideas to the president” through Foreign Minister Juan Ramón De la Fuente, and the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch.
Likewise, he said he welcomed what the Government “is doing in Sinaloa and other places.”
As an example of this, a few days ago there was information about an operation in that entity, in which they confiscated about 300 kilos of fentanyl in a home and another 800 kilos of the same drug in a van.
In this regard, President Sheinbaum highlighted that it is “Largest seizure ever” of fentanyl pillsequivalent to more than 20 million doses, which could have generated around 400 million dollars for organized crime.
On the other hand, Salazar recalled that when Sheinbaum was head of Government of Mexico City (2018-2023), she invested more than 13% of her budget in security, which she recommended also doing at the national level. “I see with optimism that security is going to get to a better place,” he said.
