Trump appoints his oldest son's girlfriend as ambassador to Greece

The elected president donald trump announced Tuesday that he will nominate Kimberly Guilfoyle as US ambassador to Greece.

Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host turned political fundraiser, is engaged to Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

In a message on his social network Truth Social, Trump highlights that Guilfoyle She has been “a close friend and ally,” and assured that her experience in law, media and politics supports her to represent the country in Greece and protect its interests.

“Kimberly is perfectly suited to nurture strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation,” Trump said.

Guilfoyle wrote on social media after the announcement: “I am honored to accept President Trump’s nomination to serve as the next ambassador to Greece and I look forward to gaining the support of the United States Senate.”

The appointment occurs in parallel with the publication of photographs in the British media Daily Mail that show Donald Jr. walking hand in hand with a woman who is not Guilfoyle in Floridato whom he got engaged in 2020.

Trump too today named its next ambassador to Türkiye: private fund manager Tom Barrack, who he highlighted as “a reasonable voice” respected by “opinion leaders in both political and business circles.”

The appointments, which must be confirmed by the Senatejoin those of dozens of leadership positions in the future Republican Trump Administration, which will take office on January 20, 2025.
