Violence in the state of Michoacán seems to have no brakes, and it claims the lives of criminals, authorities, officials and civilians alike.
On this occasion, a tragic discovery was recorded in the municipality of Zinapécuaro, where the dismembered body of Heriberto González Rodríguezwho served as treasurer of the municipality.
The victim, who had been reported missing since last November 27, was found in the parking lot of a convenience store located on the side of the highway that goes to Guadalajara.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported that The dismembered body of the official was found inside a plastic bag black in color.
A narcomessage was found next to the dismembered body of González Rodríguez, and although the authorities did not reveal its contents or the author of that macabre scene, media such as the newspaper Reforma indicate that the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) claimed responsibility for the murder.
Apparently, the message threatens to kill city officials who collaborate with the Independent Cartel Groupheaded by Alan Martínez Durán, alias “El Primo”, a former lieutenant of the CJNG.
According to the LatinUS site, one of the main lines of investigation that the prosecutor’s office is pursuing into the murder of the treasurer, points to alleged death threats that the official and Mayor Jordán Reyes García received in recent days from the CJNG.
This occurs a few weeks after armed individuals attacked the area around the municipal Presidency of Zinapécuaro, located in an area close to the limits of Guanajuato.
Videos from the surveillance system revealed that the attackers, who attacked the mayor’s office for several minutes, were aboard handcrafted armored trucks, commonly known as “monster vehicles”.
As a result of the attack, the authorities decided to cancel the Expo Feria Zinapécuaro 2024 last November.
